Description:           CASASTART is a proven Youth Development Strategy that prevents substance abuse and builds communities, developed by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA). It is designed to have a positive effect on academic or behavior problems at school, personal challenges and problems at home. Services include intensive case management, mentoring and advocacy, links to after school and summer programming, family home visits, coaching and family workshops to youth attending Aki Kurose, Asa Mercer and Denny Middle Schools, plus their families.
