Senior nursing students work with both providers and residents of Rainier Vista. They participate in health assessments such as checking blood pressures and discussing medications and health concerns at events such as monthly Senior Gathering and other group meetings in and near Rainier Vista. Students also give short health presentations at community meetings. In conjunction with Annie Edwards of Neighborhood House, students can make home visits.

Nursing students are usually available on Wednesdays (all day) and Thursday mornings during the winter (January - March) and during the spring (April - May). Each group of students plans and implements a Rainier Vista community project in partnership with the providers and residents of Rainier Vista. In the past such events have included health fairs and a Family Fun Night. The students also attend various meetings in the community such as the Rainier Vista Providers Meeting. Other nursing students who are earlier in their nursing program may visit the Rainier Vista community to interview key informants for their introductory experience to the community and surround neighborhood.
