High Point Replacement Housing

Completed to date: 332 units (46%)
In the pipeline: 150 units (21%)

Additional units planned: 234

In July 2002, the SHA Board of Commissioners approved a replacement housing plan for High Point to serve residents whose incomes are below 30 percent of the area median income. A total of 716 new units will replace High Point's original public housing. Fifty-nine percent (425 units) will be replaced at High Point:

  • 350 units of low-income housing will be managed by SHA. The rental housing in the first phase of High Point is complete and leased up, including 200 public housing units.

  • Providence Health Systems has built and leased Elizabeth House, a 75-unit apartment house for low-income elderly.

The remaining 291 units may be replaced on- or off-site by SHA itself or in partnership with another housing provider.
