Replacement housing plan

Replacement housing on site at Rainier Vista:

  • 310 units of low-income housing will be replaced on the current site. The first phase of Rainier Vista is complete and leased up, including 125 replacement units.

  • Providence Health Systems completed Peter Gamelin house, a 78-unit apartment building for low-income elderly in April 2005.

  • Housing Resources Group and AIDS Housing of Washington have built the 50-unit Genesee house, 39 units of which are replacement housing targeted for people with disabilities.

Off-site replacement housing:

  • Impact Property Services operates the Shirley Bridge Bungalows in West Seattle for AIDS Housing of Washington. Shirley Bridge Bungalows, six housing units for low-income individuals or families with disabilities, is built on property owned by the Seattle Housing Authority and leased long-term to AIDS housing.

  • SHA purchased eight townhomes in the Crown Hill area of Seattle and is leasing them to families with incomes below 30 percent of the area median.

  • SHA purchased a 42-unit apartment building, Westwood Heights East, in West Seattle. Six two-bedroom units in the building contribute to Rainier Vista replacement housing.

  • 37 units for low-income people have been built at the Dakota, a new family housing development in the Rainier Valley, in partnership with Southeast Effective Development.
