Directions to PorchLight

Taking the bus to PorchLight

PorchLight can be reached by Metro bus No. 28. Buses run about every 30 minutes from downtown. Exit the bus at Eighth Avenue Northwest and Leary Way, and walk one block west on Northwest Ballard Way. Transfers from Northwest Market Street to southbound No. 28 buses on Eighth Avenue Northwest also are available. The center is nine blocks south of Northwest Market Street at Ninth Avenue Northwest. Driving to PorchLight

From Interstate 5

• Take exit 169 and go west on North 45th Street.

• Continue west about three miles toward Ballard. North 45th Street turns into Northwest Market Street.

• At Eighth Avenue Northwest, turn left and drive to Northwest 47th Street, then turn right. PorchLight is just ahead on the left, across from the 7-Eleven and Jack in the Box.

From downtown Seattle

• Follow Elliott Avenue northbound along the waterfront. (Note that the street names change frequently.)

• Cross over the Ballard Bridge and take the first exit after the bridge. Turn right onto Northwest Ballard Way.

• Drive east for three blocks. PorchLight is on the right, across from the 7-Eleven and Jack in the Box.

From Aurora Avenue North (Highway 99)

• Take the Zoo/Green Lake exit.

• Go left on North 46th Street and follow it downhill into Ballard. North 46th becomes Northwest Market Street.

• At Eighth Avenue Northwest, turn left and drive until you get to Northwest 47th Street, then turn right and drive two blocks. PorchLight is on the left, across from the 7-Eleven and Jack in the Box.

From north Seattle

• Drive south on 15th Avenue Northwest. Just before the Ballard Bridge, take the Leary Way exit on the right.

• Turn left on Leary Way Northwest (under the bridge) and drive three blocks.

• Turn right on 11th Avenue Northwest and drive one block.

• Turn left on Northwest Ballard Way. PorchLight is on the right, across from the 7-Eleven and Jack in the Box.

Is PorchLight SHA's central office?

No. We still have administrative offices near Seattle Center, but the housing services described here are only available at the PorchLight Housing Center. Call us at 206-239-1500 if you are unsure which facility to visit.
