Our programs
The Seattle Housing Authority provides decent, safe and
affordable housing for more than 24,000 people in Seattle. In order to respond to the
widest possible range of housing needs, we operate several housing
programs. Use the links below and at left to learn more about
how we serve Seattle's low-income residents.

Low-Income Public
Housing (LIPH)
The Low Income Public Housing program, or LIPH, provides
low-rent units for families and individuals.

Voucher program (Section 8) This program provides vouchers (housing subsidies)
to help families rent privately owned units.

Communities
SHA manages or subsidizes public housing, affordable units
and homes in redeveloped communities.

Senior Housing
program (SSHP)
SSHP is a housing program for people 62 and older. SSHP also
serves a small number of disabled adults.

Property Management (IPM)
IPM units are owned or operated by SHA, and include townhomes, small complexes and
high-rises.
