Section 8 Waiting List to open on
May 15
SEATTLE—April 7, 2006—For
the first time in nearly three years, the Seattle
Housing Authority will open its waiting list for Section
8 housing vouchers. Beginning on Monday, May 15,
interested low-income residents can pick up a Waiting
List Lottery Sign-Up Form which will give them a chance
to be one of 4,000 households to make up SHA's new
Section 8 Waiting List. All sign-up forms must be mailed
to the Housing Authority and postmarked by Friday, May
26. All sign-up forms will be handled in the same way,
so there is no need for interested residents to
be first in line to obtain or submit an application. To
