Board adopts
guiding principles for redevelopment of Yesler Terrace
SEATTLE—December
6, 2007—Seattle Housing Authority's Board of
Commissioners took an important step toward Yesler
Terrace redevelopment on Dec. 6 when
they unanimously adopted a body of guiding principles
developed by a citizen committee. In adopting the
principles, the Board committed the Housing Authority to
one-for-one replacement of all existing units within the
Yesler neighborhood. They also promised to allow current
residents to return to the redeveloped neighborhood as
long as they remained in good standing with respect to
their leases.
