International District Health Services opens new clinic in Othello Building at NewHolly

SEATTLE—January 22, 2005—A celebration attended by more than two hundred patients and supporters on January 22 marked the grand opening of the new Holly Park Clinic at 3815 S. Othello St. Operated in the neighborhood since 1996, the new clinic on the second floor of the Othello Building will be able to accommodate twice the number of patients as the original clinic on MLK, Jr. Way. 22 families move into new Rainier Vista homes 

SEATTLE—January 5, 2005—The first group of Rainier Vista homes has now been leased, with almost all of them occupied by residents of the original Rainier Vista development. Through the outstanding efforts of Walsh Construction and the Rainier Vista leasing team, the first group of Rainier Vista homes has now been leased. The units are almost all occupied by residents of the original Rainier Vista development and families were able to complete their moves before year end. Preview Othello Station homes on January 8

SEATTLE—January 7, 2005—Polygon Northwest will host a home-buying seminar and tour of their new model homes on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. in the NewHolly Neighborhood Campus Gathering Hall. Loan representatives will also be available to offer assistance to first-time home buyers. Othello Station is the third phase of NewHolly redevelopment, where rental housing is already built and occupied. New grants support services for residents 

SEATTLE—January 6, 2005—Recent grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission will make it possible for SHA to help residents become home owners. The two grants, totally nearly $270,000 will support staff positions and workshops to assist residents in their efforts to save money and become more self sufficient. NewHolly section of Web site redesigned 

SEATTLE—January 7, 2005—A recently completed re-design of the NewHolly section of seattlehousing.org will help to tell the story of the transformation of this former low-income public housing community into an exciting new neighborhood.
