Yesler Terrace community conversations
provoke interest, engagement
SEATTLE—June
22, 2007—Since October 2006
the Yesler Terrace Citizen Review
Committee has been meeting to discuss
issues around the possible redevelopment
of Yesler Terrace. Seattle's oldest
public housing community, Yesler is
suffering from gradual deterioration and
is not sustainable into the future
without major upgrading or
redevelopment. The Citizen Review
Committee has been developing principles
to guide redevelopment, and is nearly
ready to release a draft for public
comment.
