Tom Tierney named Seattle Housing Authority Executive Director

SEATTLE—November 20, 2003—The Seattle Housing Authority Board of Commissioners announced today its selection of Tom Tierney to succeed Harry Thomas as Executive Director. Thomas plans to retire in early 2004. Tierney, who is currently Deputy Director at the Port of Seattle, will begin work on March 1, 2004. PorchLight initiatives increase access to housing

SEATTLE—November 20, 2003—The PorchLight housing center has adopted both customer service and program innovations to make it easier for people to apply for and receive the housing they need. These include making applications available in six languages for downloading from the Web site and creating a self-service computer station where applicants can learn about housing opportunities and regulations.
