SEATTLE—September 1, 2005—It
could take years to house the 2,700 low-income families on
SHA's Section 8 waiting list, but progress is now being
made. Some new vouchers have been issued and SHA hopes to
start serving 30 to 50 new households per month.

Milestones reached at Rainier
Vista
SEATTLE—September 1, 2005—More
than 250 community members and public officials celebrated
the opening of Neighborhood House's new Rainier Vista Center
in August. The celebration also marked the completion of the
first phase of rental housing at Rainier Vista.

Moving To new Ways plan adopted by Board
SEATTLE—September 1, 2005—Seattle
Housing’s Board of Commissioners recently adopted the
agency's new work plan for this coming fiscal year. Actions
identified in the plan include development activities at
Rainier Vista and NewHolly, renovation of high-rise
buildings within the "homeWorks" project and policy
adjustments in the Section 8 program. Click
