The Housing Quality Standards
unit of the Seattle Housing Authority conducts all
Low-Income Public Housing, Seattle Senior Housing Program, and Section 8 unit inspections, which also include the
Scattered-Sites properties.
Section 8 Program Annual Inspections
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
requires an annual inspection of all units in the Section 8
program to ensure safe and decent housing. Inspections are performed prior to each move-in, and
annually thereafter.
Other Housing Programs
All other housing programs, including
LIPH and SSHP, conduct periodic inspections to
ensure all Seattle Housing units are maintained in accordance
with local and federal housing quality standards.
Apartments in SSHP are
inspected every three years. Units in LIPH are inspected either annually or
every two years.
