Reporting fraud

Seattle Housing Authority provides housing or rental subsidies to more than 12,000 households in the Seattle area. The majority of these households have very low incomes and greatly need the assistance they receive.

Sometimes, however, people who do not have low incomes try to obtain housing or subsidy through fraud or other unlawful activity. This activity might include:

  • More people living in a unit than reported

  • Failing to report all household income

  • Subletting subsidized housing

  • Conducting illegal activity

If you believe that someone living in Seattle Housing Authority housing or receiving a subsidy is committing fraud or otherwise violating the law, please let us know by completing the form below. Every report will be investigated and kept absolutely confidential.

By combating fraud and abuse, Seattle Housing Authority helps assure that our housing and subsidies are being used by the people who really need them.
