Strategic Plan
On May 23, 2005 SHA's Board approved the agency's
five-year strategic plan,
which will set strategic directions for the next five
years. The new plan, developed by staff across SHA in
collaboration with the board, addresses the
challenges of continuing to serve those with the lowest
incomes in the face of dwindling federal resources. It
also outlines strategies that will help SHA to become less dependent
on federal subsidies.
Annual Report
SHA's
fiscal year runs from January 1 through December 31. Each year the
agency issues an annual report that lists its revenues and net
assets. It also includes significant milestones that the agency
achieved over the year.
Adopted Budget
The Calendar Year 2008 Adopted Budget covers all of SHA’s operating
and capital sources and uses, including federal and local housing
programs and enterprise activities for 2008. It was
adopted by the Seattle Housing Authority's Board of Commissioners.
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
The
Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada
awarded SHA with their Award for Financial Reporting Excellence for
the agency's 2006 CAFR. This is Seattle
Housing Authority's tenth consecutive award since preparation of the Comprehensive
Annual Financial Report (CAFR) began in 1998. The award represents a
significant accomplishment by a municipal entity and serves as a
tribute to the hard work and success of all SHA staff. Click on the

Moving
To new Ways (MTW) Annual Plans and Reports
SHA is
one of about 30 housing authorities across the country participating
in HUD's MTW Demonstration Program. This program allows SHA to test
innovative methods to improve housing delivery to better meet local
needs. While in MTW, SHA may propose and implement alternatives to
national regulations for issues spelled out in an agreement signed
by SHA and HUD in January 1999.
Each July during MTW, SHA adopts an annual plan
that describes activities planned for the following fiscal year and
highlights MTW initiatives. In December, SHA prepares an annual report
describing the previous fiscal year’s MTW accomplishments.
