Rainier Vista Redevelopment

In August 1999, the Office of Housing and Urban Development awarded Seattle Housing Authority with a $35 million HOPE VI grant to redevelop Rainier Vista, a 481-unit World War II-era garden community in Southeast Seattle.

The first phase of the redevelopment is nearing completion and all of the public housing units in this phase are occupied. Use the links below or at left to discover more about the Rainier Vista redevelopment.
