Commissioners Bley and Hoffman honored
SEATTLE—December 13, 2003—At
ceremonies on December 11, SHA Commissioner David Bley and
former Commissioner Harris Hoffman were recognized by AIDS
Housing of Washington for their outstanding contributions
to the field of affordable housing for people with AIDS.

low-income properties to replace apartments lost to
redevelopment efforts. Recently, however, the Housing
Authority has expanded efforts in order to preserve

SEATTLE—December 10, 2003—HUD Secretary Mel
Martinez announced on December 9 that he was stepping down
from his Cabinet post to pursue a Senate seat from
Florida. Alphonso Jackson, who has worked in the housing
field for many years, has been appointed by President Bush

SEATTLE—December 6, 2003—The Seattle Design
Commission cited the High Point Master Plan as an example
of innovation and collaboration among the Housing
Authority and its development partner. The citation was
presented at special ceremonies on December 4. Click
