Family Self-Sufficiency program awarded three grants

SEATTLE—January 15, 2006—SHA's Family Self-Sufficiency program recently received grant awards from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. These awards will help provide services and support to SHA residents in the Family Self-Sufficiency program, and will fund the coordination of home ownership education and counseling. For more information, click here.

High Point redevelopment highlighted at City design space

SEATTLE—January 16, 2006—The High Point redevelopment project is being showcased by the City of Seattle in a small exhibit space just off the lobby on Level 3 of the Seattle Municipal Tower. Sponsored by the Department of Planning and Development, the exhibit highlights the history, community involvement, planning process, green elements, construction and development benchmarks at this West Seattle project. Harry Thomas Community Center at Lee House benefits from volunteers, donations

SEATTLE—January 16, 2006—When complete, the Harry Thomas Community Center at Lee House will provide small conference and meeting rooms for neighborhood groups and NewHolly residents. MTW Report highlights 2005 accomplishments

SEATTLE—January 27, 2006—One of SHA's notable accomplishments in 2005 was the net increase in SHA's public housing program of 140 households due to the leasing of new rental housing at Othello Station. This is just one of the highlights of the 2005 Moving To new Ways Report, which documents the Housing Authority's progress against its goals.
