Lisa Cipollone to join SHA staff in November

Will oversee rental assistance and advocacy

SEATTLE—October 3, 2005—Lisa Cipollone will leave her current position as King County Director for U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell to join the Seattle Housing Authority management team as Director of Housing Advocacy and Rental Assistance Programs. Cipollone, a graduate of Clemson University, has been with Senator Cantwell's staff since 2003. Prior to that she worked in positions that focused on providing jobs and technical expertise to low-income people. This experience included work with TRAC and the YWCA. Andrew Lofton, SHA's Deputy Director for Finance and Administration, praised Cipollone's experience and analytical skills.

"I know that her experience at the federal level will be very valuable to SHA as our ability to influence funding and policy decisions in Washington, D.C. becomes increasingly important," said Lofton.  "Her ability to help us shape our rental assistance program to meet community needs will also be a central part of her position."

Cipollone will begin work at the Seattle Housing Authority on November 7, 2005.
