Home sales gain momentum in SHA communities
30 homes already sold at Othello Station;
builders selected at High Point and Rainier Vista
SEATTLE—March 3, 2005—While Polygon Northwest is succeeding in
selling Othello Station homes as fast as they can be brought to
market, other local home builders are preparing to make their own
contributions to the inventory of new homes in
SHA's master-planned Seattle communities.

At Othello Station, Polygon Northwest has
already sold 30 homes since it opened its models in mid-January. On
Saturday, March 12, Polygon Northwest will release the first of its townhome designs at Othello Station. According
to Polygon sales manager Christine Woodcock, “Many buyers
have been priced out of Seattle for a long time and they
also don’t have the choice of new homes that can be found in
the suburbs. Othello Station is a wonderful answer.”

Polygon Northwest will release their next
single-family homes on March 26 and several people
already have a place on the reservation list.
Bennett-Sherman
LLC, a collaboration between Bennett Homes and Sherman Homes, is
also building 22 homes at Othello Station. Their offerings will be
along the western edge of the neighborhood, bordering open space.
Construction is underway on five of these homes and a sales center
is now located at Othello Station. As shown in the picture included
here at left, Bennett-Sherman is offering larger homes than Polygon, yet one
s that still fits well
with the design guidelines that SHA set for the neighborhood.

Two companies that are experienced
neighborhood builders have also recently purchased land at High Point in West Seattle
and Rainier Vista in the Rainier Valley. Saltaire is a
local company that has done considerable work in the
West Seattle and Queen Anne area. This company has recently purchased
home sites at High Point, where they will build 14
townhomes designed by Mithun Architects. Construction is
expected to begin by this summer.

At Rainier Vista, Travelers Company has
recently purchased building sites
where they will construct 8 townhomes. These will be located on
the large park in Phase I of Rainier Vista, on the west side of
MLK, Jr. Way. Design plans for these town houses are currently
under review by SHA. This minority-owned firm is experienced in
home construction projects in the Central Area. They expect to
begin construction in early summer.
