The annual Seattle Public School College Bound Scholarship Conference will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2019, 1 until 4 p.m. at Mary Gates Hall on the University of Washington Seattle campus.

The conference includes a college fair, student panels and workshops to explore college and career options and learn about admissions requirements and financial aid. Thank you to the many college and community partners that help make this event a success!

The College Bound Scholarship is an early commitment of state financial aid to eligible students who sign-up in middle school and fulfill the College Bound Pledge.

As part of the college bound sign-up process, students pledge to:

  • Graduate from a Washington State high school with a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Have no felony convictions.
  • Apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) beginning their senior year.

 

To receive the scholarship, students must fulfill the pledge and:

  • Apply for the FAFSA or WASFA every year while in college, and be income eligible. Colleges use information from the FAFSA and WASFA to determine income eligibility.
  • Be accepted to an eligible college and begin attending within one year of high school graduation.

The College Bound Scholarship was established by the Legislature in 2007. The purpose of the program is to provide state funded financial aid to low-income students who may not consider college a possibility because of the cost. Learn more about the College Bound Scholarship.
