Ms. Yapp joined the Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) in June 2007, bringing more than 25 years of public sector management, financial and policy experience to SHA. Previously, she held the position of Redevelopment Director and Executive Advisor for the Seattle Center. During her tenure there, she was responsible for capital financing of the Seattle Center’s projects, managed more than $600 million in private investment and development at the Seattle Center and successfully completed the redevelopment of McCaw Hall. Ms. Yapp has also served as Executive Director of the Pike Place Market Preservation & Development Authority, Deputy Mayor to City of Seattle Mayor Charles Royer and Budget Director for King County. As King County Budget Director, she was responsible for the development and management of the County’s $500 million Operating and Capital budget, and was on the Executive Finance Committee directing investment policies and practices for more than 50 County funds. Ms. Yapp has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Washington, where she graduated cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She served as a member of the University of Washington’s Board of Regents for twelve years, having first been appointed by Governor Mike Lowry and later reappointed by Governor Gary Locke.
SHA offices will be closed on Monday, January 21 to observe the Martin Luther King holiday.
