Summer programs for Seattle youth at the Seattle Public Library

Summer is here, and The Seattle Public Library is here for you. Head to a Library branch with your kids to pick up your Summer of Learning activity booklet, go to a fun program, check out some books, and enjoy the air conditioning. Twenty-two of the Library’s 27 locations are air-conditioned. Find a complete list of air- conditioned libraries at spl.org/Shelter.

Summer of Learning launches on June 16

The Summer of Learning program for kids and families launches on Monday, June 16. The theme for 2025 is “Reading, Learning, Growing Is for Everyone!” with many exciting programs and activities. Stop by your closest Library location to pick up a summer action guide. Download it in multiple languages at spl.org/SummerofLearning

Kids can track their reading and activities on the Summer of Learning gameboard. Once 15 gameboard spots are filled in the booklet, youth can pick up a small prize from their local branch. Teens and adults can also play Summer Book Bingo: Read books in fun categories, fill in your squares and submit your card by Tuesday, Sept. 6, to be entered in a drawing for prizes. spl.org/BookBingo.

Fun programs including magic, music, story times and more

Try a new library program this summer. The Library regularly hold programs such as story times in different languages, board game nights, Play and Learn sessions and adult tutoring.

There's also special Summer of Learning programs such as magic shows, music performances, filmmaking workshops, art workshops, dance classes and more.Check the spl.org/calendar to see what’s happening at a branch near you.

On Thursday, August 7, the Burke Museum is holding an all-day free Summer of Learning party.  All library programs are free and open to the public.
