2019 Technology Matching Fund Grant
The application period for City of Seattle’s Technology Matching Fund grant is now open for 2019. Community organizations, nonprofits and neighborhood groups are encouraged to apply for grants up to $50,000 each. The grants are designed to help improve digital equity through projects that support the community.
“For decades, Seattle has been home to some of the most innovative technology companies anywhere in the world,” said Mayor Jenny A. Durkan. “But the speed of that innovation has meant that some people get left behind. The Seattle IT Technology Matching Fund provides an opportunity for us to address digital inequity and work to close the digital divide. I can’t wait to see what projects the 2019 application cycle will bring.”
The City seeks applications for projects designed to improve digital literacy, provide affordable devices and increase access to free or low-cost broadband. City funds are matched by the community’s contribution of volunteer labor, materials, professional services or funding.
Starting later this month, informational workshops will be held to learn more about the application. First time applicants are encouraged to attend. The application deadline is Tuesday, March 26 at 5 p.m. For more information click here.
