Charles Lind hired as Seattle Housing Authority General Counsel

Media Release

The Seattle Housing Authority is pleased to announce that it has hired Charles (Chuck) Lind as General Counsel.

Lind comes to SHA from Patterson Buchanan Fobes & Leitch, a firm that advises and defends public entities, including cities, counties, fire districts and school districts. He was general counsel for the Kent School District and served 16 years as a King County Prosecutor, with experience in both state and federal court.

“We are fortunate that we have found someone to step into the General Counsel role who is a very experienced attorney with a background in the types of legal issues that impact SHA,” said SHA Executive Director Andrew Lofton. “Chuck has thirty years of legal experience and has worked extensively with public entity law, federal and state regulation, governing boards, commissions and executive officers in charge of agencies.”

Lind notes that when his mother and her family first moved to Seattle, where his grandfather worked as a Boeing defense worker in World War II, they lived in SHA housing. “I’m excited about the tremendous contribution the Seattle Housing Authority makes to my community and I look forward to being a part of the SHA team,” he said.

Lind received his J.D. degree from the University of Washington and has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1990.

Lind joins SHA on Monday, March 1, 2021. He is replacing James Fearn who is retiring after 20 years as General Counsel at SHA.
