HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge visits Yesler

The Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have partnered to promote the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). This program helps low-income households afford internet access. HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge announced the partnership while visiting Hinoki, Yesler’s newest residential building, for a roundtable discussion on digital equity.

The roundtable included SHA Executive Director Rod Brandon, HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge, Mayor Bruce Harrell and FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks, SHA tenants Qween'B and Jodi, SHA Digital Equity Coordinator Asfaha Lemlem, HUD Office of Housing Director Janice King Dunbar, HUD Regional Administrator Margaret Salazar and Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority Co-Executive Directors Jamie Lee and Jared Johnson.
