Back to school with the Seattle Public Library

Do you have children back in full-time school? The Seattle Public Library can help your family get a good start to the school year.

First, the Library is open.  Twenty-six of The Seattle Public Library’s 27 locations are now open, many for seven days a week. Go to the Library to browse and check out books, to use a computer or printer, or simply sit and read or do homework. SPL staff is ready to help you. Find the schedule for each location at spl.org/Hours

Second, the Library offers free online tutoring for children in kindergarten through grade 12 seven days a week. Your child can get one-on-one help with math, science, writing, history, test prep and much more. Tutoring is offered in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. To find a tutor, go to spl.org/VirtualTutoring.

You will need a Library account to get an online tutor. If you’re a student with Seattle Public Schools, you can get instant access to tutoring and other online resources through Library Link. Go to spl.org/LibraryLink to learn how. You will need your child’s student ID number and pin number.

In addition to tutoring, your child can use Library Link to read e-books and digital comics, watch educational videos and movies, and learn online skills.

Call 206.386.4636 if you need help with any of these services. If you need an interpreter, just ask. Or you can go to spl.org/Ask or visit your closest Library branch for help. SPL staff can’t wait to see your family in the Library.
