Rental vouchers offered through partnership with City of Seattle
SEATTLE — November 8, 2012 — Seattle Housing, working in partnership with the City of Seattle's Office of Housing, has awarded 49 project-based rental vouchers to four nonprofit low-income housing providers.
The following projects were awarded vouchers through this process:
- Sand Point Family Housing Phase 2.2, Solid Ground
- Impact Family Village, Mercy Housing NW
- Imani Village, First Place School
- North Queen Anne Apartments, Bellwether Housing
The vouchers will make it possible for these organizations to offer housing units to extremely-low-income residents, people with incomes below 30 percent of median income, for the next 40 years.
Many nonprofit housing providers make affordable rental housing available to residents earning between 30 and 60 percent of Area Median Income. With receipt of the additional subsidy provided by a project-based voucher, a nonprofit housing provider can offer rentals that are affordable well below this level.
