SEATTLE — Sept. 28, 2011 — More than two hundred volunteers from the High Point community, Windermere Real Estate, Seattle Housing Authority and Neighborhood House came together on Sept. 23 to build a new community playground at High Point.
Volunteers built playground equipment, assembled benches and tables, and spread bark bedding all in one day in Bataan Park, which is located at the corner of SW Bataan St. and High Point Drive SW. A "design day" was held in July to allow neighborhood kids the opportunity to provide input on the playground's features.
The park was officially opened to kids on Sept. 27 at a Grand Opening ceremony.
More photos of the event can be seen on Neighborhood House's Facebook page.
