NewHolly May construction update

NewHolly Phase I construction is progressing rapidly with the recent dry and warm weather. By the first week of May, all buildings in Phases A and B will be sided while roofers will have finished their work for the whole project. As these crews move off site, painting crews will spread out from S Holly Place to S Brighton Street to complete their work in Phase B. Charter Construction crews will also be completing “punch” work throughout Phase I, returning to completed buildings to do final paint touchups, caulking, or deck and rail work. Additionally, crews are installing new gutters at painted buildings. To prevent flooding, temporary gutters have also been installed on the carriage houses along the Willow Street alleyway. SHA is also happy to report that the fire damaged units at S Willow Street and 32nd Avenue S are fully rehabilitated after more than a year of interior and exterior construction.

Please continue to be aware of forklifts and storage trailers on the site and respect the cones and construction zone signs on your street between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please remember it is important to remove vehicles from driveways when siding and roofing work is in progress so that workers can access the building. Additionally, please pay attention to No Parking signs across from dumpsters to keep spaces clear for emergency vehicles and construction material deliveries. The Seattle Fire Department has reminded SHA that it is critical to resident health and safety that No Parking signs be obeyed. Notices posted on your door provide instructions about when to move your vehicles and how to properly park them in a construction zone. In addition, you’ll find information about what you may need to do with satellite dishes, internet cables, and personal items that may prevent construction from proceeding.
