SHA Executive Director Rod Brandon was invited to speak at a national Innovative Housing Showcase in Washington, D.C. hosted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He participated on two panels, one focused on effective decarbonization strategies and the other centered on successful environmental innovation in construction and rehabilitation of public and multifamily housing The Seattle Housing Authority is recognized as a national leader on environmental stewardship and sustainability and for being one of the first housing authorities in the country to sign on to a U.S. Department of Energy Better Climate Challenge, committing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent and energy consumption by 15 percent by 2032.
