Habitat for Humanity held a groundbreaking ceremony in Seattle's Lake City community on October 24. Speakers included CEO of Habitat for Humanity, Brett D'anotion; Deputy Mayor, David Moseley; SHA Deputy Executive Director, Anne Fiske Zuniga; U.S. Senator Patty Murray's Seattle Director, Kate Baumgartner; Wells Fargo Vice President of Community Development, Dwight Prevo; and future resident, Demirew Takele. Seattle Housing Authority provided discounted land adjacent to SHA's Lake City Court to Habitat for Humanity to build 16 family-size townhomes. The townhouses are for low-income households as affordable homeownership opportunities.
