SHA invites public comment on Proposed Budget and MTW Plan

Residents, voucher holders and community members are invited to comment on Seattle Housing Authority’s 2019 Proposed Budget and 2019 Moving to Work (MTW) Annual Plan. The Budget and Plan outline the agency’s priorities and resources for the coming year. The 2019 Proposed Budget and Plan will be available for comment beginning August 31 and ending September 30 on SHA’s website. To request a paper copy, email mtw@seattlehousing.org or call 206.615.3576.

SHA will hold a Public Hearing to discuss the Proposed Budget and Plan at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at SHA’s main office at 190 Queen Anne Ave N in Seattle in the first floor Jesse Epstein Conference Room. In addition, SHA staff will meet with public housing residents who serve on the Joint Policy Advisory Committee (JPAC) and the Seattle Senior Housing Project (SSHP) Advisory Committee in September. Comments can also be sent by email to mtw@seattlehousing.org, or by postal mail to Seattle Housing Authority ATTN: Policy Department, 190 Queen Anne Ave N, PO Box 19028, Seattle, WA 98109.

After the comment period closes on September 30, staff will brief the SHA Board of Commissioners on all comments received. This may result in modifications to the Plan or Budget. At the Board of Commissioners regularly scheduled Board Meeting on October 15, the Board will vote on adoption of the 2019 Proposed Budget and Plan. If adopted by the Board, the MTW Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for final approval.
