Siding work begins at Wisteria Court

Construction is progressing quickly at Wisteria Court. The last of the existing roofs were demolished the week of June 4. Roofers will finish shingling all twelve buildings by the end of June.  Building 7544 is undergoing siding and window work with crews entering the units to remove and replace the existing windows. This process takes 10-14 days per building with an additional two to three weeks to allow the sealant to dry and sills to be installed. SHA is coordinating with residents weekly to inform them of upcoming unit entries and ongoing exterior construction activities.

To prevent delays, SHA asks residents to observe any instructions on notices they receive, particularly removing furniture and personal items three feet away from the window sills. The exterior cladding, including the rain and weather shield and Hardie plank siding, will be installed once the window work is complete.  Construction at Wisteria Court is expected to last through November 2018. CDK Construction and multiple sub-contractors will be on site every weekday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Residents should regularly look for notices concerning construction activities and accommodate scheduled entry into their units when possible. Additionally, residents can contact their property management staff about the relocation efforts that will begin in late summer 2018. However, questions regarding construction, site safety, or unit entries should be directed to the project’s Resident Communications Liaison, Liam Tevlin (206.245.8106, liam.tevlin@seattlehousing.org).

Please be aware of fork lifts and other construction vehicles when walking on 24th Ave SW. Parking will be very limited on 24th Ave SW and used primarily for construction vehicles. Therefore, residents should park in their building’s garages or on adjacent streets. No-Parking and Construction-Zone signs are for everyone’s safety. SHA appreciates your cooperation.

Project updates will be posted monthly to Wisteria Court’s community page. SHA and CDK Construction look forward to sharing news of the project’s progress in the months to come.
