'The Voice' resident newspaper has a new home on the web

A snapshot of VoiceNewspaper.orgSEATTLE – April 25, 2012 – The Voice, a monthly newspaper published by Neighborhood House and supported by Seattle and King County housing authorities, can now be found online at VoiceNewspaper.org

As with other news websites, VoiceNewspaper.org allows readers more interaction with the content and allows the paper's editor more flexibility with story lengths and deadlines. The website, developed by Laura Gentry, Communications Specialist for Seattle Housing, provides search functionality, story comments, larger color photos, PDFs of the print edition, and an email newsletter.

"I think of this website as an exciting new format for The Voice newspaper," said Tyler Roush, editor of The Voice. "By building a presence online, we have the potential now to reach a much larger
audience, and to publish local and national news stories at a much faster pace."

The Voice serves residents of Seattle and King County housing authorities. Due to recent budget constraints, there were cuts made to the number of news pages printed. Roush hopes the paper's new online presence will mitigate the loss of space in print, but he is also committed to producing a great print edition.

"While our new website is an exciting step for The Voice, we remain committed to the quality and the value of our print edition," Roush said.
