View Maven's video story SHA receives 75 additional vouchers to aid foster youthThe Seattle Housing Authority has received funding to aid 75 additional youth who have been in foster care. The Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) vouchers will serve young people who have aged out or are aging out of the foster care system, are 18-24 years old and are at extreme risk of homelessness. With the special Housing Choice Vouchers, these young adults receive subsidy for housing either in the private rental market or with a nonprofit housing provider.Sally Clark appointed to SHA Board of Commissioners Sally Clark, Director of Regional and Community Relations at the University of Washington and a former Seattle City Council member, has been appointed to the Seattle Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. The seven-member Board includes five at-large positions and two SHA resident positions. Sally will serve in one of the five at-large positions. Dave Wellings named Director of Housing Operations The Seattle Housing Authority has named Dave Wellings as Director of Housing Operations. The Housing Operations Department manages and maintains SHA’s portfolio of more than 8,000 units of housing, operated under various programs including Low-Income Public Housing, Seattle Senior Housing Program and Special Portfolio. Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Seattle Housing Authority has a deep commitment to race and social justice and recognizes the significant contribution Dr. King made to civil rights and greater equality and justice for all people.
