COVID-19 vaccine distribution

SHA has been in close, constant contact with public health officials throughout the pandemic and has followed their guidance in making changes to our operations and interactions with tenants, and in communicating with tenants about COVID-19. Now that a vaccine is available, SHA is actively working with public health officials, the City of Seattle, area medical providers and others on getting vaccine information and vaccines to SHA tenants. They have indicated a willingness to work with SHA on potentially on-site vaccination clinics for SHA residents, access to nearby community clinics for all tenants or other ways to ensure SHA tenants are included when eligible according to the state’s timeline and phasing for vaccinating people. SHA will keep tenants informed as more is learned or specific plans are made.

In the meantime, if you have an opportunity to get the vaccine through your medical provider or another official vaccination program, do not wait. Go ahead and get the vaccine as soon as you can. The state has a new FindYourPhaseWa.org tool to help you see what phase we're in and help you sign up to get vaccinated.

It is important for everyone to get vaccinated so that we can reach a level of immunity that will allow our community to begin to resume more normal activity, and business and social engagement. There is misinformation about the vaccine circulating and you should get the facts from public health officials, not media. Here is information from Public Health – Seattle & King County on vaccinations for COVID-19. It informs people on what is known about the two approved vaccines and what to expect in getting a vaccine, with translations into 17 additional languages.

It's also important to help stop the spread of the virus even after you’ve been vaccinated. Help keep others safe by continuing to wear a face covering, stay six feet apart from others and wash your hands frequently.
