Emily Abbey, a longtime resident of the Seattle Housing Authority who served as a member of SHA’s Board of Commissioners from 2015 until 2019, passed away on July 28. Prior to serving on the SHA Board, Emily was active in the Joint Policy Advisory Committee representing residents and serving as co-chair for four years. 

Emily's varied career included working as an editor/writer as well as administering employee development programs and energy program grants.  She worked for the federal government, a government contractor, private industry, and a social services agency.  

We remember Emily fondly, and appreciate her service to the SHA community.
