Starting today, the federal government is distributing free at-home test kits by mail. Those who want free at-home test kits with free shipping can order them through the federal testing website COVIDTests.gov. Orders are limited to four tests per household.

On Jan.15, health insurers began providing free test kits and reimbursing for those purchased from pharmacies and other retailers. Up to eight tests per month per individual on the plan are covered. Some providers and stores have arrangements for the store to bill your insurance directly.
