Preparing for remote learning

Seattle Public Schools has announced plans to start the 2020-21 school year remotely. The first day of school is Friday, Sept. 4 for first grade through 12th grade students. Preschool and kindergarten students will start on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Internet access and devices

For eligible students and their families, SPS is offering sponsored internet service so students can connect to online learning. There are two services that SPS is currently sponsoring:

  • Comcast Internet Essentials (for families who will have a fixed address for at least 6 months) that is installed in the home.
  • SPS Cellular Hotspots (for families with no fixed address or moving frequently) that can be picked up at select locations.
