On Friday, January 25, the president and Congress reached a deal to end the partial government shutdown with a Continuing Resolution that will fund government at 2018 levels through February 15 of this year. The president said, however, that he is prepared to either invoke emergency powers or shut down the government again on February 16 if agreement is not reached on a budget that includes funding to build a border wall.

SHA’s services continued throughout the last shutdown. With the current reopening of government, SHA and other public housing authorities will now receive funding for additional months even if the government shuts down again on February 16.

SHA will have the ability to continue funding expenses through May regardless of whether the government shuts down again in February
