Local foundation donates $10,000 and pledges $10,000 more in matching funds to help families displaced by Lam Bow Apartment fire
SEATTLE— October 6, 2016—The Biella Foundation, a small Kirkland-based family foundation, made a $10,000 donation today to Seattle Housing Authority’s (SHA) Lam Bow Fire Relief Fund to help the 19 low-income households displaced by the fire that destroyed their building in West Seattle on September 27. In addition to their initial donation, the Biella Foundation has pledged up to $10,000 more in matching funds to help inspire others to give to this effort.
Housing Choice Voucher waitlist lottery to open Feb. 6
On Monday, February 6, 2017, Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) will open a lottery for places on a new waitlist for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, formerly known as Section 8.
Washington residents with a SNAP EBT card can use it to purchase groceries through online retailers.
SHA and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced an intention to partner on a new master plan for the Northgate Apartments, which SHA purchased at the end of 2019.
