CELEBRATING FREEDOM The Seattle Housing Authority recognizes the struggles of enslaved African Americans and those who fought to end enslavement. We celebrate their strength and resilience, acknowledging how far we have come and how far we have yet to go. SHA is committed to working actively to advance race and social justice equity — for those we serve, our colleagues and the greater community. Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19 each year to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States. See a list of events and resources to celebrate Juneteenth. SHA offices will be closed on Monday, June 20, to observe the Juneteenth holiday. SHA Housing Service Center adds in-person services to online and phone options
You can drop off your rent payment, housing applications and more. If you are a Housing Choice Voucher client and want to meet with an SHA staff person, you are asked to schedule an appointment in advance. Free COVID-19 test kits available at Seattle Public Libraries
Libraries are distributing COVID-19 rapid testing kits at all 27 locations. Free COVID-19 test kits can also be ordered through the Washington Department of Health.
