Information for people with disabilities and reasonable accommodation requests

Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) provides reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in SHA’s programs, activities and services. If you are currently not a resident or a participant in one of SHA’s programs, but have questions about SHA’s reasonable accommodations, contact SHA’s ADA Coordinator Sanja Stegich at 206.615.3550 or adacoordinator@seattlehousing.org.  

SHA Housing residents: To request a disability-related reasonable accommodation, visit your property management office to begin the process. To inquire about the status of your accommodation request, you may contact your property manager, or call the ADA Coordinator at 206.615.3550. The ADA Coordinator will notify you in writing about the outcome of your request.   

Section 8 voucher holders: To request a disability-related reasonable accommodation, contact your Certification Specialist to begin the process. To inquire about the status of your accommodation request, you may contact your Certification Specialist, or call the ADA Coordinator at 206.615.3550. The ADA Coordinator will notify you in writing about the outcome of your request.   
    
Applicants: To request a disability-related reasonable accommodation, contact SHA Admissions during your application process. SHA Admissions or the ADA Coordinator can update you on the status and the outcome or your request.    

Low income housing applications are processed through a waitlist, and no priority placement is available for applicants with disabilities. You can apply for housing online or by requesting a paper application. Start your application here.
