Juneteenth

Juneteenth is the holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in the United States.  At Yesler, the community has celebrated Juneteenth for many years.  The celebration features performances, speakers, food, and fun activities.

Seattle Denim Day, Honoring Indigenous Women

Denim Day was created for people to come together by wearing denim as a sign of protest against sexual violence. Seattle Human Services and the Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence are hosting the Seattle Denim Day: Honoring Indigenous Women event on Wednesday, April 24. There will also be an evening event hosted by The Seattle's Women commission. 

State of the District: Equity and Excellence

Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Denise Juneau invites you to a student-centered celebration of district progress and plans for our future. Evening celebrations will include recognition of schools, community partners, and individuals who have partnered with the district to support students in achieving their dreams.​

Reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open to the auditorium at 5:50 p.m. and the 1-hour program will begin at 6 p.m. The event will include performances by Rainier Beach High School String Quartet and Nathan Hale High School Vocal Jazz Choir.

Diversity in Construction Trades Event

Come meet and hear directly from construction apprentices, employers, and apprenticeship program opportunites! 

The Diversity in Construction Trades Event will feature:
