For the first time since the pandemic, in-person story times have resumed at Seattle Public Library locations. Bring your little ones to preschool story time, family story time and more at your neighborhood branch. Story times are fun for both caregivers and children, blending reading, singing, movement, play and learning activities to reveal the magic of books and stories.

You can also go to a Kaleidoscope Play and Learn session at several branches. Children listen to multilingual stories, sing songs and do simple crafts with their caregivers during the group time.

You don’t have to sign up ahead of time, just show up ready to have fun!

Find a full list of early learning programs at the story time calendar: spl.org/StoryTimeCalendar.

While you’re at one of our branches, be sure to check out the children’s section to browse books and DVDs and take some home. You can also use a computer, print documents, charge your devices or just hang out and read. Ask a Library staff member if you need help with book recommendations or any other services for you or your children.

The Library offers programs for older youth and their families as well, including Homework Help at six locations and virtual one-on-one tutoring through Tutor.com seven days a week. Our Summer of Learning program for children and teens starts in June.

If you need help with any Library resources, call 206.386.4636. If you need an interpreter, just ask. You can also email or chat with a Library staff member at spl.org/Ask. We look forward to seeing you and your children at The Seattle Public Library!
